$3 Million Homes in California
A hillside house built in 1993, on 0.1 acres
This three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom house is in Beachwood Canyon, within walking distance of a cafe, a grocery store and a pair of stone gates built in the 1920s, when this section of the hills was known as Hollywoodland and recognized as a cultural monument by the city. Lake Hollywood Park, which has views of the Hollywood sign, is a five-minutes drive.
Los Feliz is about 10 minutes away by car; Studio City is about 20 minutes away; and West Hollywood, about 25 minutes away.
Indoors: From the street, outdoor steps lead up to the main level, with more steps inside continuing up to a foyer that faces the living room, which has wide-plank floors and two sets of sliding-glass doors that open to a long balcony. Open shelves are built into one wall, and around the corner is a dining room with sliding-glass doors that open to the side patio.
The dining area is next to the kitchen, and between the two is a built-in banquette tucked beneath two windows. The kitchen itself has a black Zellige tile backsplash and a Viking range.
There are two bedrooms on the main level, off the foyer. Both can accommodate a king-size bed and each has an en suite bathroom. A powder room with dark blue walls is also next to the foyer.
Steps lead up to a second-floor lofted area open to the floor below. With built-in bookshelves and a desk, it can function as an office. The primary bedroom is on this level and opens to its own wraparound balcony. Its bathroom has a claw foot tub and separate steam shower.
