She reconnected with a Lady Gaga classic after seeing her in concert, reconsidered a Beat Happening tune through the ears of a toddler and discovered an oddball Johnny Cash cover by the alternative rock band Wall of Voodoo.

As Zoladz pointed out, not all of the music linked to our memories of this year actually came out in 2025. Maybe your favorite song of the past 12 months was an old tune you fell back in love with, a new-to-you discovery or a piece of music linked with an important event in your life.
